Programme Highlights

With the increasing application of performance based fire engineering design approach for new and existing building projects in Hong Kong , it is considered necessary to review the quality and requirement of fire engineering profession to safeguard design standard and safety of building. At the same time, FSD is exploring the feasibility of introducing a ‘Competent Person' system for addressing fire safety issues such as fire risk assessment, formulating fire safety requirements, compliance check to certification etc. and it may start with ‘Third party Certification' of fire services installations for Licensed Premises.

This forum is open to seek views from HKIE members working at different industry sectors and concerned establishments to formulate policies for way forward on requirement of ‘Fire Engineering' professional both from a government regulatory body, the services industry and the HKIE's perspective.
